Gyro headsCyclo 1: Steadicam Head That Changes the Game

September 30, 2024

Cyclo 1, our modern Steadicam head, debuted on the market just 1.5 years ago and has already gained recognition among professional operators. With numerous innovations and continuous development, Cyclo 1 is becoming a key tool in video production.

Cyclo 1: Who Is It For and What Does It Offer?

Cyclo 1 is a head designed for professional Steadicam operators who need a tool with exceptional capabilities. This head is perfect for filming both in studios and in challenging outdoor conditions. Thanks to its advanced technology, Cyclo 1 allows for the rotation of the head without the worry of twisted cables, providing unparalleled flexibility. Additionally, Cyclo 1 can record automated movements that can be triggered via a button on a joystick, enabling precise control over shots. Operators can also adjust the rotation speed and smoothness, making the Cyclo 1 modular head indispensable for achieving stunning film production results.

New Features of Cyclo 1

Remote Roll Control with Nodo Wheels & RC Pilot

In October 2023, we introduced a new feature – Remote Roll Control, which allows for remote control of the head’s movement using Nodo wheels and an RC remote. With this setup, the operator can focus entirely on capturing the shot using the Cyclo 360 ° head while another team member operates the Nodo wheels or the RC Pilot, resulting in seamless collaboration on set.

Demo Days – Testing in Los Angeles and New York

Demo Days were held in Los Angeles in 2023, followed by another event in March 2024 in New York. During these sessions, users had the opportunity to test the Cyclo 1 head for Steadicam operators in action. Participants could see how the advanced technologies in Cyclo 1 translate into the quality and fluidity of the filmed shots.

Pursuing perfection

Recently, we implemented several significant enhancements to Cyclo 1 aimed at improving operators’ workflows. These changes include:

  • Reduction of height by 29 mm, improving ergonomics and stability.
  • Better weight distribution, increasing comfort during long filming sessions.
  • A special button added to facilitate operation during recording.
  • Angled LEMO connectors located on the back wall of Cyclo 1, enhancing functionality and simplifying equipment connection.

Cyclo 1 Workshops

Upcoming Cyclo 1 workshops will provide an excellent opportunity to learn how to operate this innovative head. More information can be found on the Cyclo workshops page.
