Recently, we developed a fully integrated roll-tilt UAV gimbal tailored for drone-based inspection applications. This system was designed, manufactured, and tested entirely by our crew.
From initial concept and technical discussions with the client, through mechanical design and prototyping, to production and validation — every stage of development was executed under one roof. This approach ensures a seamless integration process and full control over quality and performance.
Gimbal optimized for Sony LR1 and LiDAR
We specifically designed our gimbal to support two sensors: the Sony LR1
camera and a LiDAR unit. Compact and lightweight, it is optimized for aerial platforms where
weight, balance, and stability are crucial. Despite its low weight, the mechanical structure
delivers high rigidity, ensuring reliable operation even in challenging flight conditions.
Custom designed gimbal components
To meet performance and form factor requirements, our team developed dedicated
BLDC motors with hollow shafts, tailored specifically to the gimbal. The system also features
custom-designed cabling — including Ethernet and other signal lines — routed internally
through the motors. Additionally, we developed the wiring in-house and manufactured it according to our own specifications.

UAV gimbal built on field feedback
The LR1-LiDAR gimbal represents the second generation of UAV gimbals for the Client, incorporating critical improvements based on operational feedback from the previous model.
Enhancements were made to the mechanical design, mounting options, and integration workflow — all guided by insights from real-world use.
Internal quality control and testing
Each unit is tested at HD Air Studio’s facility, following internal quality check procedures to verify mechanical functionality and integration readiness before delivery.
