Custom UAV Gimbals for Special Missions

Sometimes the standard portfolio of drone gimbals doesn’t quite match your business case. Sometimes you need a camera stabilizer for very specific operational parameters or an unusual application. HD Air Studio is your partner for special UAV missions.

Our gimbal camera stabilizers are seamlessly fitted to all your subsystems and sensors of your own selection, even the most niche one - be it a hyperspectral, thermal or industrial camera, LiDAR, laser or radar. As HD Air Studio, we have experience in designing drone gimbals housing simultaneously 2-3 sensors of various type in order to process more data during a single drone flight.

There are many benefits of using custom gimbals and drones.

SMART DESIGN
Use a sensor of your own selection and enjoy a perfectly matched UAV gimbal, just like an integrated payload gimbal.
CHANGE PAYLOADS
Custom gimbals can be designed in a couple configurations of sensors. Sensors are easily detachable from a drone.
PROGRAMMABLE
Thanks to Serial API, you can use our gimbals for advanced commands, e.g.: retrieving real-time data, object live tracking.
CABLE MANAGEMENT
Custom motors with hallow shafts allow us to neatly run all electrical wiring, even unusual wiring, and reduce the gimbal weight.
BEST IMAGE STAB
Smooth footage guaranteed, even with long lenses. We ensure flexible camera positioning on a drone.
AGILE APPROACH
We are adaptable to changes during the project. We usually discuss a couple of design configurations.
EASE OF USE
Our UAV gimbals can switch between different scripts by simply pressing a button (setting up different profiles through code).
DATA SECURITY
You are the sole owner of data gathered by the gimbal and all its peripheral devices. We design and assembled all gimbals in Poland.

Drone gimbal development step-by-step:

1.
UAV PROJECT ANALYSIS

First, we will make sure we understand all intricacies of your project. Tell us what is it that you want to achieve with the gimbal. We will listen to your ideas and requirements from the camera stabilizer carefully. Drawing on that, we will create a precise product specification.

2.
PROTOTYPING

By combining electrical, mechanical and software engineering under one roof we bring the prototype of your gimbal to life. At this stage, we give it rough time with all sorts of tests. If there are no changes to implement, sometimes the prototype unit turns out to be the final unit.

3.
FINAL UNIT PRODUCTION

Drawing on the outcomes of the prototying phase, we work hand in hand with our clients to make sure that the final unit of a gimbal meets and even exceeds your needs in terms of functionality and appearance.

4.
ONBOARDING & EVALUATION

Once your gimbal is ready, we will provide you with all information needed to use its potential to the full. We always keep in touch with our clients after the project is done, as we believe the work is just starting. We evaluate our solutions and suggest improvements.

Custom UAV gimbals with adjustable parameters
Knowing CAD software inside-out and combining various production techniques (e.g. CNC machines, FDM & SLA 3D print), we can design and produce any gimbal according to your specification from scratch.
SIZE
We adjust the gimbal size to the sensor and its operational mode (handheld, drone, machine).
MATERIALS
Depending on the gimbal application, we can suggest suitable construction materials.
MOTORS
Rest assured we’ll select motors that carry your payload easily – be it 20 g or 20 kg.
SLIPRINGS
We can apply various sliprings in motors (number of wires, diameter of wires).
MOUNTING OF A SENSOR
We will make sure that the mounting of a sensor inside the gimbal is no hassle to you.
WEATHER SEALING
We can protect your gimbal from water, dust and humidity.
ANTI-VIBRATION SYSTEM
We can guarantee that your gimbal is free from vibrations, even micro-vibrations.
ELECTRONICS
Communicate with your hardware via API.
